Since joining Changzhong Machinery in 2003, he has been repeatedly recognized as the company's "Model Worker" and "Advanced Individual." In 2014, the team he led was awarded the honorary title of "Worker Pioneer" by Changsha City. In 2018, he received the "May 1st Labor Medal" from Changsha City and the title of "Jinxia Craftsman" from the Changsha Jinxia Economic Development Zone... For more than seventeen years, he has quietly remained at an ordinary post, interpreting the spirit of craftsmanship with his dedication, silently shouldering a respectable responsibility—he is Jiang Yongjian, a driller in the machining section of Changzhong Machinery!
Although he only attended junior high school, he is diligent and eager to learn, studying hard and mastering many trades and technologies including turning, planing, milling, welding, oxy-fuel cutting, and maintenance. His drilling and welding skills rank among the best in the workshop and have been widely recognized and affirmed by company employees. "He works more than 15 hours every day, always arrives on time, is the last to leave, and never needs me to assign tasks; he arranges everything meticulously on his own and never shirks work or hides away," said Liu Zhonghua, the head of the machining section.
When mentioning Jiang Yongjian, colleagues and leaders praise him endlessly. "Down-to-earth," "skilled," and "dedicated" are the most common descriptions. Such praise and respect do not come out of nowhere. Besides his main duties, he is responsible for supplying alloy turning tools for the entire production department. He patiently processes and welds according to the shape of parts, tool angles, and grades required by each operator. In his spare time, he recycles old turning tools, removing welds and repairing them for multiple milling uses to reduce waste. He responds promptly to production needs, using free time to perform extensive welding repairs on blanks and processing defects, saving the company an estimated tens of thousands of yuan annually.
During the company's equipment relocation at the end of 2016, Jiang Yongjian independently completed the measurement, cutting, welding, and installation of pit covers, supports, foot guards for machines such as the double-column boring machine, the Xide gantry milling machine, the two-meter gear hobbing machine, two 1.6-meter vertical lathes, the 4.5-meter grinding machine, and the Z30125 drilling machine, as well as workpiece racks. The effort and sweat he invested are imaginable.
It is still remembered that in the 2019 Zhongtian Steel TY19-316 contract bucket wheel stacker reclaimer renovation project, Jiang Yongjian was urgently assigned to the site to handle the modification of the rotary platform seat ring. During this period, he and other team members worked tirelessly, racing against time. "Even during rest, I was thinking about work and felt very anxious," said Jiang Yongjian.
For Jiang Yongjian, these are not dazzling achievements but the bits and pieces of his serious and responsible attitude toward work over more than a decade.
